Crusharo's treatment of the "My Number" (個人番号) number on Japanese ID cards

At Crusharo, your privacy and security are our top priorities. We are continually updating and refining how we handle identity documents issued in Japan to comply with local obligations and our data protection commitments.

A long individual identification code is printed on the back of some official identification cards issued by the government of Japan, such as the "My Number Card" (マイナンバーカード). This code is also called “My Number” (個人番号). To strengthen the protection of this data:

• Crusharo's verification process automatically strips the "My Number" from your government-issued ID image upon receipt and the original image is then permanently deleted.

• This ensures that the code cannot be saved or viewed by anyone as part of a manual check.

• This number is removed as part of the verification process, meaning it is not part of the data processed or retained by Crusharo. The saved data only contains the image from which the number has been removed. This image will also be deleted within three days in accordance with Crusharo's data retention policy, unless its retention is required by applicable laws and regulations.

What are the consequences for you?

• You can continue to use your “My Num” cardber Card” for verification purposes, but do not try to hide card information yourself. If you do so, the verification will not be accepted.

• The part about “My Number” is automatically removed using third-party technology. Only the minimum required information, such as your name, photo and date of birth, is used to confirm your identity.
